Planning a visit to Comino’s Blue Lagoon? New visitor regulations mean that most visitors must book an access pass and select a specific time slot. But with Comino Ferries, you can enjoy a simpler, more flexible way to visit.
What Are the New Blue Lagoon Access Pass Rules?
Since May 2025, visitors to Comino’s famous Blue Lagoon have been subject to a new Access Management System (AMS), introduced to manage visitor numbers and help protect the island’s natural environment.
Under the standard system, visitors must obtain a free Blue Lagoon access pass in advance through the official website, blcomino.com.
When booking an access pass, visitors must select one of three designated time slots:
Morning: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Afternoon: 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Evening: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
This means planning your visit around a specific time window.
Travelling with Comino Ferries? No Separate Blue Lagoon Access Pass Required
Here’s where travelling with Comino Ferries makes things easier.
Passengers booking with Comino Ferries do not need to obtain a separate Blue Lagoon access pass or select one of the three standard visiting time slots.
Under Comino Ferries’ authorised arrangement, passengers can simply purchase their ferry ticket and travel on a scheduled service at a time that suits them. During our Summer season this means you can simply arrive at one of our departure points in Ċirkewwa or Marfa and catch a ferry. There is one scheduled every 30 mins.
There’s no need to make a separate access-pass reservation or commit to a morning, afternoon or evening slot.
Book Once, Travel Anytime Within Three Months
One of the biggest advantages of booking with Comino Ferries is the flexibility of your ticket.
All Comino Ferries tickets are valid for three months from the date of purchase.
This means you can:
Choose your travel date: Use your ticket on any date within the three-month validity period.
Choose your departure time: Board any scheduled departure without reserving a particular ferry time in advance.
Choose your departure point: Travel from either Marfa or Ċirkewwa, whichever is more convenient.
Plan around the weather: Choose a sunny day for your Blue Lagoon adventure without being tied to the date selected when purchasing.
All travel is subject to the published ferry timetable, service availability and weather conditions.
How Much Does the Comino Ferry Cost?
